KOMAKO HOKAMA GILLAN is an accomplished professional with over 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Based in Tokyo, Japan, she specializes in supply chain management and supplier relations, demonstrating a proven track record in leading recovery strategies, enhancing operational efficiency, and providing exceptional customer support for airline operations, including engineering, flight, and maintenance.


Before transitioning to supply chain management, Komako supported airline operations by partnering with engineering, flight, and maintenance teams in the US, as well as liaising with airport authorities to ensure smooth Boeing aircraft operations. In her current role, she collaborates with suppliers to strengthen business relationships and enhance operational capabilities, ensuring seamless supply chain operations that support Boeing production and uphold the company's commitment to airlines, their passengers, and flight crews by delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient products.


She has held various leadership roles, including serving as interim Senior Leader during the challenging operational period of COVID-19 in late 2020. Komako is relentless in her pursuit of equity and diversity, giving a voice to those who may not have the courage to speak out, as evidenced by her roles as President of Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership and as a member of the Racial Equity Task Force representing all Boeing employees.


Komako pursued a partial doctorate in East Asian Studies at the University of Sheffield, UK, and holds a bachelor’s degree in policy science from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan.
